Spec magazine completed for Magazine Design, a course in the Integrated Design master’s program at the University of Baltimore, spring 2018. Inspired in no small part by Short Stack Editions and Lucky Peach magazine, Forage was conceived of as a quasi-serious meditation on the role vegetables play in our lives: vegetables as culture, not just something we eat. For this “first” issue, I decided to focus on carrots, mostly due to their vibrant hue. It was printed and bound by Columbia, MD-based Indigo Ink.
In addition to the printed magazine, I also created a coordinating website mock-up and merchandise samples as extensions of the magazine's brand.
